On a thoroughly miserable, damp, and dismal afternoon, Portland United U18s produced a disciplined and clinical performance to return from Poole Town Wessex U18 Colts with a well-deserved 3–0 victory.

The opening half at the 2:00pm kick-off was a cagey affair, with both sides struggling to find any real rhythm in the testing conditions. The Blues looked well-organised at the back and gradually began to build pressure going forward, although clear-cut chances were at a premium before the interval.

The contest burst into life almost immediately after the restart. Following a flurry of substitutions from both sides, the Blues struck first on 48 minutes to break the deadlock and settle any early second-half nerves. The visitors then quickly doubled their advantage on 50 minutes, showing great composure to effectively seize control of the contest.

With momentum firmly in their favour, the Blues continued to press and added a third clinical goal on 56 minutes to put the game beyond reach. the Blues then managed the remainder of the match professionally, rotating their squad and seeing out the victory comfortably despite the increasingly challenging conditions underfoot.

Defensively, the Blues remained solid throughout, limiting Poole Town Wessex to very few meaningful opportunities after the interval. The team showed excellent energy and organisation across the pitch, with the performance capped by a strong display from every man in a Blue shirt.
