Portland United v East Cowes Victoria AFC
Saturday 21st March 2026, 3:00pm
Camp & Satherley Stadium
Attendance 205

On a bright, sunny spring afternoon at the Camp & Satherley Stadium, Portland United produced a commanding performance to secure a 3–0 victory over East Cowes Victoria in front of a crowd of 205.

The hosts started on the front foot and looked dangerous from the off. Greg Borthwick fired narrowly wide inside three minutes, before Patrick Jenkins saw an audacious chip tipped onto the bar by a recovering defender. Chances continued to come, with Remus Nixon and Jack Delves both going close as Portland applied early pressure.

East Cowes did threaten on 18 minutes when they broke through one-on-one, but Harry Foden stood tall to produce an excellent save and keep the scores level.

As the half wore on, Portland’s persistence paid off. On 42 minutes, Borthwick reacted quickest after a fumble from the visiting goalkeeper to slot home and give the Blues a deserved lead. Just before the break, Jenkins doubled the advantage, calmly finishing in stoppage time to send Portland into half-time firmly in control at 2–0.

The second half saw Portland manage the game professionally, limiting East Cowes to very little while continuing to look dangerous going forward. A series of substitutions kept the energy levels high, with Euan Joyce, Hayden Scott, Tom Peach and Josh Camp all introduced as the hosts looked to see the game out.

Camp would play a decisive role late on. After coming off the bench, he burst through on 88 minutes and delivered a perfectly weighted pass to Nixon, who made no mistake in front of goal to seal the win and round off an excellent team move.

A final change saw Connor Ings introduced in the closing moments as Portland comfortably saw out the game to secure three points and a well-earned clean sheet.

It was a complete performance from Portland United, built on early attacking intent, clinical finishing at key moments, and a solid defensive display throughout.
