Final Pre-Season Friendly

Portland United signed off their pre-season campaign in emphatic style with a dominant 7–0 victory over Sturminster Newton United at the Camp and Satherley Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Blues were sharp from the first whistle, applying pressure and moving the ball with confidence. It didn’t take long for them to make their early dominance count. Remus Nixen opened the scoring, calmly slotting home to give Portland the lead. The hosts doubled their advantage soon after through Greg Borthwick, who found the net following a well-worked team move. Before the break, Pat Jenkins added a third, ensuring the Blues went into half-time with a commanding 3–0 lead.

The second half continued in much the same fashion. Archie Woolford made it 4–0 shortly after the restart, showing good composure to finish off a sweeping attack. Just minutes later, Josh Camp got on the scoresheet with a clinical effort to extend the lead to five.

Woolford then bagged his second of the night with a smart finish, capping off an excellent individual performance. The scoring was completed by Pat Jenkins, who also grabbed his second of the game to round off a convincing win for the home side.

It was a solid and professional performance across the pitch, with plenty of positives for the management team to take into the competitive season.

With pre-season now concluded, attention turns to the serious business of the 2025–26 campaign. The Blues will kick off with an away trip to Hythe & Dibden on Saturday 2nd August in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
