Portland United Reserves 1Westland Sports 3

Wednesday 7 January 2026 – Camp & Satherley Stadium

Westland Sports claimed all three points at the Camp & Satherley Stadium, delivering a relentless performance that left Portland United Reserves chasing the game from the opening whistle. The visitors dominated the first 25 minutes with a high-intensity press and sharp ball movement, keeping the Blues pinned deep within their own half. This early dominance was rewarded in the 22nd minute when Louis Irwin opened the scoring, though Portland were fortunate not to be further behind after Westland struck the woodwork twice during a period of sustained pressure.

To their credit, the Blues refused to buckle. After weathering the initial storm, Portland gradually found their composure and began to establish a foothold in the contest. Their persistence paid dividends just seconds before the interval, as Sonny Cleeton surfaced in the 45th minute to level the scores and send the home side into the break with renewed momentum.

However, the second half saw Westland reclaim control. Despite a spirited defensive effort and a series of tactical substitutions from Portland, the visitors’ quality eventually told. Thomas Frampton restored Westland’s lead in the 65th minute with a clinical strike, and while Portland continued to battle, the result was put beyond doubt ten minutes from time when Philip Ormrod added a third. It was a committed display from the Blues, but they ultimately found no answer for a well-organised and clinical Westland side.
