Portland United Under 18s made the journey to Parley Youth on Sunday morning and returned to the island with a well earned 3–1 victory in Dorset Under 18 Division One.

Despite the early start, Portland settled into their task and produced a disciplined team performance against a competitive Parley side.

The young Blues worked hard throughout and were rewarded with three goals, while their defensive efforts ensured that Parley could only find the net once.

Birch was on target for Portland, with Ansell providing the assist, while the other two goals were shared among the Portland attack.

There were opportunities for the squad to make an impact from the bench too, with Cooke, Hayne, Ansell and Lynham all introduced as Portland made changes during the game.

Portland continued to work hard as the match progressed and showed good character to maintain their advantage, eventually seeing out the game to claim an impressive 3–1 away victory.

It was another encouraging result for the Under 18s, who can be pleased with both the scoreline and the application shown by the whole squad.

Three goals, three points and another positive morning for Portland United’s youngsters.
