Portland United U18s produced a dominant display at Bournemouth Electric on Sunday, turning in an impressive performance in their latest Dorset U18 League Division One fixture.

From the opening stages, the young Blues looked sharp and purposeful, showing plenty of confidence in possession and a real appetite to get forward. Portland controlled large spells of the game and created plenty of opportunities, with their attacking play eventually reflected on the scoresheet.

Roy was among the early contributors, finding the net twice during an excellent individual display, while Wash also got his name on the scoresheet as Portland continued to apply pressure.

The young Blues maintained their intensity as the game progressed, with Bournemouth Electric struggling to contain Portland’s attacking threat. There was good movement throughout the side, with the Portland players combining well and making the most of the opportunities that came their way.

Portland’s strength in depth was also evident, with Lynham, Cooke, Pearce, Birch and Restorick all introduced during the game. The changes did little to disrupt the visitors’ momentum, with the fresh legs helping Portland maintain their high tempo.

Restorick made an immediate contribution after coming on, finding the net, while Cooke also joined the goalscoring action. Bobora-David and Birch then added further goals as Portland continued to dominate proceedings.

The goals were backed up by some excellent creative play, with Wash, Roy, Rodgers, Ansell, Lynham and Porter all registering assists. Roy enjoyed an influential afternoon, contributing two goals and an assist.

With six different players finding the net, it was a thoroughly productive afternoon in front of goal for Portland, while the overall performance demonstrated the quality and confidence within the U18 squad.

The young Blues can take plenty of positives from a dominant team display at Bournemouth Electric, with the squad continuing to develop and make their mark in Dorset U18 League Division One.
