Portland United fell short against AFC Stoneham, conceding twice late in the game in their Wessex League clash. It was a tough first outing for new joint managers Craig Adams and Kyle Critchell, extending the Blues’ winless streak to six games and leaving them 14th in the table.

Stoneham started strong, dominating possession and eventually taking the lead with a stunning volley from Ash Pope. Portland fought back, equalizing through Sam Gadsby, but a Purps goal just before halftime gave Stoneham the advantage again.

The Blues tied the game once more in the second half with Jamie Cleaver’s rebound header, but Stoneham shattered their hopes with two late goals in added time, securing a 4-2 victory.
