Portland United U18s v Oxford City U18s
Tuesday 14th October, 7:45pm – Camp & Satherley Stadium
FA Youth Cup – Third Qualifying Round

It was a great spectacle under the lights at the Camp & Satherley Stadium, but Oxford City’s young guns ultimately proved too strong for Portland United’s U18s.

Both sides started brightly, each looking to gain control in the early stages. However, it was Oxford City who struck first on nine minutes through Bampoh, finishing well to make it (0–1).

Portland made their first change on 28 minutes, with Ellis replaced by Moles as the Blues looked to respond.

In the second half, Waring was replaced by Bobora David on 63 minutes, as Portland continued to battle for a way back into the game.

Oxford City doubled their advantage on 68 minutes when Fornal found the net. (0–2)
Portland responded with a quick double change: Rodgers was replaced by James on 71 minutes, followed by Hepburn making way for Lampard on 74 minutes.

Took-Oxley extended the visitors’ lead further on 76 minutes (0–3), and Maxwell rounded off the scoring in the 86th minute (0–4) to seal the result.

Portland made their final change shortly after, with Squibb replaced by Ansell.

That’s how it finished — a spirited performance from Portland United’s youngsters, but Oxford City’s clinical edge saw them progress to the next round of the FA Youth Cup.

Everyone at Portland United wishes Oxford City U18s the very best of luck in the next round.
