Christchurch U18 Portland United U18
Dorset League U18 Division One)
Camp & Satherley Stadium. Sunday 26th April. (2:00pm)

In a dominant display of attacking football, Portland United U18s secured an emphatic victory over Christchurch U18 at the Camp & Satherley Stadium. Despite being the designated away side due to a tournament at Hurn Bridge, Portland looked entirely at home.

Portland wasted little time asserting their authority as Rodgers opened the scoring with a brilliant individual effort. The momentum stayed firmly with Portland as Hepburn doubled their advantage shortly after. The middle period of the first half belonged to Roy, who first found the net with a well-timed header before finishing off a fluid team move for his second. Although Christchurch managed to pull one back to make it 4-1, Roy responded almost immediately, completing a first-half hat-trick to send his side into the interval with a 5-1 lead.

The second half saw a raft of tactical changes as S. Ellis, Wareing, Lampard, Ross-Mackenzie, and Wash were all introduced from the bench. While the scoring pace slowed, Portland remained the aggressors. Davies found his clinical edge in the final period, netting Portland’s sixth goal before following up shortly after with his second and Portland’s seventh.

The defensive unit, anchored by McCarthy, Gregg, and Fisher, remained disciplined throughout the closing stages to ensure no further reply from Christchurch.

Goal scorers for Portland included Roy (3), Davies (2), Rodgers (1), and Hepburn (1), with assists provided by Cleeton (2), Bament, Burrows, Wareing, and Hepburn.
