Hamworthy Recreation U18 1-3 Portland United U18
Dorset League U18 Division )ne
Hamworthy Club, Magna Road. Sunday 19th April. (2:00pm)

Portland United staged a clinical second-half comeback at Magna Road on Sunday to secure a vital 3-1 victory over Hamworthy Recreation.

The visitors found themselves trailing at the interval after a frustrating first half ended 1-0 in favour of Hamworthy. The opener came via a lapse in the Portland defence, with an own goal handing the hosts the lead against the run of play.

However, the complexion of the match shifted entirely following the restart. The introduction of Burrows from the bench proved to be the catalyst Portland needed; his energy and composure on the ball allowed the visitors to find their rhythm, earning him the Man of the Match honours for a game-changing cameo. Portland’s persistence finally paid off when Roy levelled the scoring, finishing off a well-worked move orchestrated by Bobora-David.

With the momentum firmly behind them, the away side took the lead through Pearce, who chose the perfect moment to net his first goal of the campaign following another precise Bobora-David delivery. The points were finally wrapped up in style by Bobora-David himself; having already provided two assists, the playmaker turned scorer to strike the decisive match-winner.

Despite a flurry of tactical substitutions, including the return of Ellis, Taylor, and Roy to the pitch, Portland remained disciplined to see out the result and secure all three points on the road.

PORTLAND UNITED: S. Ellis, E. Ellis, Roy, Bobora-David, Rodgers, McCarthy, Wash, Fisher, Wareing, Gregg, Bament.
Subs used: Lampard, Taylor, Burrows, Pearce.
