Portland United faced off against Hamble Club in a match that truly showcased the unpredictable nature of football. The Blues got off to a flying start with Freddie Beale’s precision shot in the  2nd minute, putting Portland United ahead. Greg Borthwick extended their lead in the 36th minute with another fantastic goal, setting the home side comfortably 2-0 up by halftime.

The first half saw Portland United dominate, leaving Hamble Club struggling to find their rhythm. However, the second half was a complete reversal of fortunes. Hamble Club emerged revitalized, orchestrating a stunning comeback. They found the back of the net four times, with goals in    the 66th, 72nd, 79th minutes, and sealing their victory with a final goal in added time.

The Blues’ Joe Wickham was awarded Man of the Match for his relentless efforts throughout the game. Despite his performance, it wasn’t enough to secure any points for Portland United.
