The hosts made the brighter start and were rewarded in the 12th minute when Liam Sayers broke the deadlock, finishing off a well-worked move to give Portland the lead. However, the advantage was short-lived as Cobham Sports hit back just two minutes later, levelling the score at 1–1.
The remainder of the first half was evenly contested, with both teams carving out chances. Both goalkeepers impressed during this spell, commanding their areas well to ensure the game went into half time level at 1–1.
After the interval, Cobham Sports began to assert their dominance, gradually taking control of the game. Their pressure finally told in the 75th minute when they found the breakthrough to go 2–1 ahead. From there, the visitors pushed on strongly, adding two more late goals to put the result beyond doubt and secure a convincing 4–1 victory.
For Portland, it was a frustrating afternoon after a promising start, while Cobham Sports underlined their strength with an impressive second-half display.
