Portland United Reserves was in ruthless form under the lights at St Mary’s Field, firing five unanswered goals past Bridport Reserves to record a resounding Dorset Premier League victory.
The tone was set early when Kia Kilcoyne struck after just three minutes, calmly slotting home to give the visitors the perfect start. The lively winger was at it again soon after, doubling the lead in the 12th minute with another composed finish.
There was no respite for Bridport as Greg Borthwick made it 3–0 on 15 minutes, turning in from close range following a slick attacking move. Just before half-time, Callum Norman added a fourth in the 45th minute, capping a relentless first-half performance that had Portland in total control.
The scoring was completed shortly after the restart when first team manager Kyle Critchell, leading by example, powered home a header in the 48th minute to make it five. From there, Portland managed the game professionally, with their defensive unit, led by skipper Ash Smith, keeping Bridport comfortably at bay.
Substitutes Hayden Payne, Max Fisher, Adam Rodgers, Billy Hathway, and Preston Hepburn all made solid contributions as Portland saw out an emphatic win on the road.
