Riley Greenwood
Tom Butcher
Match Report from Reserves Manager Stuart Beddingfield.
It is never easy travelling to Poole Borough. They are a well drilled side and hard to break down. Unfortunately first half we didn’t play well and were very flat. But the positives were that we went in at HT 0-0 where we could address certain things.
Second half and we started much brighter and more on the front, our movement in our attacking phases were much better and we rotated much better and just overall had more quality. We got the goal after some good buildup play and Tom Butcher tapped home on 52 minutes.
Unfortunately, we played the last 30 with ten men after what the referee deemed a straight red card to Ben Dunster who was having a fine game. We had to be really disciplined and resolute, we closed the gaps well and we defended superbly. We caught Poole twice on the break late on with Riley Greenwood grabbing a brace to secure a good three points on the road.
An outstanding resolute and professional second half performance and I couldn’t be prouder of how the lads reacted in the second half. Not one for the purist but a workman like squad performance.
The lads and I would like to thank everyone for their support and wish everyone at the club a very Merry Christmas.
