Westland Sports 1–3 Portland United Reserves
Alvington Playing Fields – Kick-off: 7:30pm
Portland United Reserves made the journey to Alvington Playing Fields on Tuesday evening to take on Westland Sports in a hastily arranged pre-season fixture.
The Blues started the match with intent, moving the ball well and creating early chances. Their bright opening was rewarded in the 39th minute when Josh Camp found space and finished neatly to give Portland a deserved 1–0 lead going into the break.
The second half continued in much the same manner, but the hosts hit back early after the restart to bring the scores level. Portland responded positively and regained the lead in the 65th minute through James Coat, who calmly slotted home to restore the advantage.
With five minutes remaining, Ashley Warwick made sure of the result, finishing well to make it 3–1 and cap off an encouraging performance.
It proved a useful and competitive workout for both sides, with Portland United Reserves showing strong signs ahead of the new Dorset Premier League campaign.
